Playing "Charity" Games

I recently moved to Indiana and as I mentioned in another post there are no casinos nearby. There are however many "charity" games which consist of both tournament and cash game poker... Are these games worthwhile or should I just be making the 3 hour drive to a casino? I have not played in a "charity" game yet so I have no clue of what it will be like or how it will be ran.

I think it would be worth checking out the charity games, especially the cash games. Charity tournaments bring a lot of inexperienced players and some who don't even know the rules. I've only played charity tournaments at Casinos so they have been run well.

While charity games certainly do bring a lot of inexperienced players, beating the 'rake' in a charity game is, almost, impossible. Unless I know someone that is sponsoring the cause, or it's something that I wholeheartedly support, I steer clear of charity events.
