I have always found that if I need money, Gambling at anything is the worst way to try and get extra cash, You are always aware of what you are gambling with and the fact you really cannot afford to lose, but lose you will, because you are always second guessing yourself. That horse or dog you fancied an hour ago just doesn't appeal to you any more, or the hand you currently hold is just not as strong as you first thought after seeing the flop, the list is endless, this is because you are playing with scared money, money you really need and don't want to lose because that hole you are in just seems to get bigger and bigger. STOP! The only way to get out of that hole is to put your nose to the grindstone and work your way out of it, I married young and had a hard time with a wife and 5 children to support and at one point had 3 jobs to try and support them. I did and never regret a minute of it, now my children are all grown, with family of their own, I find I don't need as much money as I used to, and can relax at a Poker table or spend a day at the race track just for the experience of having a day out. I don't need extra cash and always play with money I can afford to lose, £50, £100 it really does not matter that much, it is money I don't need and can afford to lose, and most of the time I win, Why? because I am never second guessing myself and stick to what I believe is the best decision. I can walk away from a race track, or Poker table knowing I made the right call or fold at the right time even if I bust out and lose the lot, I have had a good day doing what I enjoy, If I walk away with extra money, then it has been a great day, even if I am only £10 up on the day it is a great result. Play sensibly, with money you can afford to lose, and even if you only break even, you are still a winner, when others have lost their shirts! When the fun Stops, STOP!
