I have caught myself doing this at times too.  I usually only play freerolls and micros but sometimes I’ll win a seat to a larger cash tournament where the buy-in is $100-$200.  I’ve have never cashed out at any of my big ticket wins yet.  I know in these situations I play differently partly because I’m so excited and partly because I’m playing a much higher value game and I want so badly to win “Just one time :)” I believe the more I play them the more comfortable I’ll get, so for me I think it’s partly my lack of experience.  Any money that I have played for poker was from my entertainment budget money so I did not have that added fear of losing money that I should probably not be playing.  If that were the case, I would be a nervous wreck and  know I would definitely not play poker well at all. When a person plays poker it really should be as stress free as possible.  Every cent of money I have at the poker tables online at this time has all been won but I still think for myself I need to gradually increase the buy-in at the tables I play to help get used to not focusing on how much I just paid to play and just focus on the game of poker.  Jumping from paying $0 to have a ticket for $200 is a huge difference even though I never paid $200 in the first place, it just messes with my mind for now :).
