I like you have never Intended to be a professional poker player and to balance work kids and family life is not simple or easy The thing is you could be whatever you want to be. My screen name says it all I totally love this freaking game. Over the years I've studied sometimes very lightly sometimes very seriously and as time goes on i've gotten better and better and that's the thing It really is going to take time for you to get to a point where you don't get mediocre results. If you just put in a little study time each day you're gonna get better but you should be focused on to what you're studying. It's not about ICM or GTO or anything else it's about understanding the game understanding yourself and finding the best balance you have when playing. It took me quite a while to win my first tournament to stop seeing mediocre results today I do really well when I could play and I still am not a professional or want to be 1. Like you this game is more of a hobby for me although I have hopes and dreams I had never thought I would go to the World Series yet I won a poker tournament to go to the World Series not just once twice I know it wasn't for the main event. I've been a good winning player for years I just haven't had the opportunity financially to move up but it doesn't happen overnight. Play the game for the love of the game for the enjoyment of the game too many poker players out there forget why we started playing. Very few people started because I want to make easy money and it's not easy money. Just be yourself and enjoy it. As for investing in game, I would recommend you doing that but I would also recommend using what you can find for free and being logical in it. About 4 1/2 years ago I stopped playing to really focus on the game. I spent quite a bit of time not playing but just learning every single aspect spending months looking at preflop months looking at term month looking at river month on the flop And when I came back to the game I started to really kick some you know what. I say this because of a competitive ***. You don't have to do what I did but be logical and Start learning one place at a time The thing is you might be surprised at how you start to see some better results. I wish you the best of luck brother.
