Hi guys. I'm wondering if anyone can put me onto any decent gambling/poker books. Not guides, I have a few various strategy guides now, I'm talking about either autobiographies/biographies really.
I read Amarillo Slim 'in a world full of fat people' and loved it, I'd recomment that to ANYONE! Funny with a bit of advice in their too- prop bets that would put Phil Ivey to shame! hehe.
Also recently read 'Swimming with the Devilfish' which was pretty good.
Got another on order from amazon called 'ghosts at the table', and thats it. Anyone got any good picks for me?

I've heard Matusow's new book is supposed to be a good read. I believe there's a thread on CC somewhere about it (and poster is co-writer or something like that?)

Positively 5th Street was the 1st "poker" book I ever read, at least a year before I started playing. It's very good.

+1 for Bringing Down the House. It's at least a million times better than the POS movie they made "based" on it (21).

" The Biggest Game in Town" by A. Alvarez. A classic study of high stakes poker players written during the wsop in 1980 ( I think, not sure on the exact year). Its a wonderful book.

Ace on the River by Barry Greenstein is supposed to be very good, it's more of a comment on the poker lifestyle than any sort of strategy discussion. I liked Gus Hansen's book, too, not really for the strategy but just because it was fun.

I agree, Hansen's book was a good read.
