[QUOTE="zachvac, post: 1113795, member: 26306"] And here's the biggest flaw imo. With no offense meant to anyone, there are people on this site who struggle with 50nl or even lower. These people read and post on the forums, actively try to improve, and still struggle. Yet you are now saying it would be easy for a bot to make 1 BB/100 at 50nl. If it were so easy just playing unsophisticated ABC poker wouldn't we have a lot more people easily beating 50nl+? The thinking involved includes assessing the type of player you are against, and what kind of range each action represents. I am not convinced yet that there is a bot that can think on that high a level yet. The problem is that part of the bot-catching strategy involves comparing stats. I remember a few years ago one set of bots was caught in exactly this way. I think they played HU limit but basically there were 6 "regs" who all had absolutely identical stats in every single category all the way down to stats like how often they C/R the river or how often they fold to turn cbets in 3-bet pots. So they would basically have to be 10 different winning styles capable of being played by a bot. That might be stretching it a bit. I don't know because I haven't tried, but again I highly doubt it. How many people on the site beat 50nl+ for over 1 BB/100? Sure there are a good amount, but certainly not everyone or even close to the majority. Surely if it were that easy people who contributed to a poker forum would be able to do it right? Any discussion of winning poker at 50nl would probably have to include topics such as what boards are good to cbet, how to react to cbets on various boards, and other hand-reading topics that a bot would struggle with. This is true, but all money will be confiscated from your account. 10-tabling 50nl that means it's at least $500 that you lose if they catch you. You're kidding right? To be fair no one is saying a bot is the best poker player, but they are saying that a bot can beat the fish therefore cut into the rate of a good poker player. Remember a winrate of anything better than breakeven BEFORE THE RAKE will hurt the winning player's winrate. This means that even a -2 PTBB/100 player will hurt a winning player's winrate at 50nl. As to the links I still don't understand why they'd be illegal to post but w/e. I'm interested in the links though in all seriousness if you can pm them to me as well (or if you're worried about breaking site rules I can pm you an email address you can email them to). I'm keeping an open mind and I've never denied that there probably are some bots out there. I just think that they all get caught fairly quickly and that there are very few successfull bots. In fact I think the comparison to card-counting in blackjack is perfect. Blackjack makes the casino money because everyone thinks they can count cards. They kick out the teams that manipulate betting patterns to maximize edge but allow the low-stakes counters that probably have like a 51% edge just because the average card-counter is not good at it and donates more to the casino than the good card-counter takes out. Similarly I'd bet the average bot loses money at poker. Sure I could be wrong, but on a forum I hope you can understand why it's so hard to believe you when you simply say "well my links say..." without any references. But I'm willing to read them through, even if they are very long. I'm currently playing the game for a living so I'd definitely be interested if there is evidence to the contrary of what I have said.
