My Chips Read your packaging Carefully. There are basically 2 "sizes" there are 9g and 11.5g chips. Make sure you get the 11.5g. This is the size they use in casinos. There are also 2 different (uniform) types of chips, one is called "Suited" and the other is "Dice". The "Suited" chips have the 4 suits along the rim and Dots on the edges. The "Dice" chips (the more popular ones) have Dice along the rim and Lines along the edges. (if you watch interviews with the pros backstage at a table with chips, these are the chips they use) I bought my first set at Spencers. It was only a 100pcs set (suited) and came with a chip tray and cover. Nice to have, but not really practical for a game. 3 colors only 100 chips... I dont think so. The next set I got was a 500pcs (dice) set in a brief case. 100 chips of each color Green, Red, White, Blue and Black. I found this was ideal but using the White as a $100 chip, found we were consistantly buying/selling White chips at the table because of the denomination. (you need 4 for $400) Found at Walmart (in the sporting goods isle) they had "rolls" of 50, so I bought (2) whites (dice). Put my "suited" chips in the "tube rolls" and kept the rack for my new whites. Being a home game poker "addict", wanted MORE!!! Went online and purchased a few more racks, and 100 more of "Black" Dice. (want to make sure they all match. Thats 700 chips now... is that enough??? NOPE!!! NOT FOR ME... I WANT MORE!!! ok... What next??? Went back online (a year or two later of course) and ordered Purple and Orange chips... A little irregular, but higher denominations... more exciting play and longer games. (900 chips total now). You would think Im done right??? WRONG!!! Later again I went online and bought Pink. Now I have pink... and How should I store them??? The same time as buying my pink chips... Have you ever noticed in Casinos when Security is moving chips from the cage to the tables??? Yep... I bought one.... It holds 1000 chips (10 racks). This was a little expensive at about $45, but I love it. If you are looking for chips in a hurry, you can find them in stores and like someone stated "christmas is coming" and they will start popping up. Otherwise I suggest looking online (a decent price is about $0.10/chip) Put in your search engine "Poker Chips" and look around. You'll find single chips, chip sets and chip cases. I have attached photos of "Suited" chips, "Dice" chips and MY CHIPS! Good Luck with your search!
