FullTilt did the brave thing and refused to comply. So Italians are still welcome there. FullTilt is clearly breaking Italian law, but they obviously don't care since they are not located there and what they do is legal in their jurisdiction. I'm not sure whether Italians playing at FullTilt are risking anything, on the other hand.

There are apparently talks of changing the Italian law because when you tax and regulate poker so heavily, you kill it, and so the revenues of those taxes for the Italian state are quite disappointing.

This is of immense interest for French players since the government here is moving towards an Italian-like regulation. In perfect Orwellian fashion, they call this an "opening" of the poker market. :eek:
