You can do many things for fun. SOme people watch TV for fun, others learn programming languages for fun, without any profit on their mind, just for educational purposes or to see where the truth is. Some people are walking their dog cause dog wants to pee or to poo... some other people are walking outside with their dogs for fun, just for the walk. Without a clear goal. It doesn't makes them stupid and it's not a waste of time, when people are spending their time doing something that is really important for them, then during rest hours they simply want to enjoy something else, for fun, let's say just to have a break from their main goals. This is why and how such games like poker can be played without value, even without chips at all, we can agree to see who will win during 3-5-10-20 deals, we don't need chips for that, we don't need to set the prize for the winner, no need to say I bet-fold-raise, we can just enjoy instant flop-turn-river-showdown without any bets at all. It's something like going fishing and releasing all caught fish back to the river or lake or ocean, or going fishing with no fishing rod just to observe how your friends are fishing.
