Do any of you subscribe to, or read on a regular basis, any Poker Magazines?

If so, any that you recommend or, perhaps more importantly, any that are total rip offs?

I read all the free articles online in Cardplayer and bluff. They both have free phone Apps along with WPT magazine. The first two would be worth subscribing to, just haven't done it yet.

^Cardplayer and Bluff are great magazines, not really any other poker magazines out there that are really even competitors with them, imo.

Depends on what you are looking for, News or Strategy, Leader boards and results or pro hand analysis.

You could pop along to a casino, they usually have a few magazines around, sit and read them (with a free cup of coffee) and see if you like any.
Or you could try browsing in Smiths or some other newsagents.

There's the new American version of Poker Player magazine. Releases once every two months and has some decent stuff you can check out. Since your from UK then why try the original Poker Player magazine. Its supposed to be UK;s biggest selling poker magazine.

I was considering subscribing to one of the big poker magazines like Bluff or Cardplayer but for $20-30 a month I'd much rather just subscribe to either Grinderschool or DeucesCracked and study/download the videos.

You mean the magazines? They tend to keep the current issues around?

Yes indeed, I believe most of them are monthly. In Fl we have a weekly/ biweekly one, I forgot the name but it's mostly for tournament results. We also have regional magazines but I'm not certain you'll get those in your area

That's very good to know. Thank you. I have the Poconos, upstate NY, CT, Jersey, etc all within a decent driving range so I intend on hitting up the casinos a bit once I buff up my bankroll here online more. They're also building a huge casino resort about 20 minutes away from where I am now and it's apparently going to have a huge poker room. I can't wait.

Thank you all for your recommendations.

Seems that there are 3 front runners. Will have to investigate.

It's great if you want to read all about the lastest faceless 19 year old in a hoodie who has just won half a million euros in Poland or somewhere godforsaken like that.

The strategy pages are absolutely dire with some terrible advice offered in the main.

Aimed at the lowest common denominator as most media is these days. Don't fall for it.

unfortunately, I don't even know any poker magazines and have never heard of subscriptions for these magazines in our country poker is illegal, and most likely we do not produce such magazines and even if the release of such subscription is not so easy to learn
