Poker...more luck or skill?

I would say an equel measure of luck and skill, however, with the all-in online mentality it often shifts to luck. For example: In a tourney yesterday I had 4 hands I went all-in on due to various reasons including stack size, the hands were 55, 1010, JJ, and AA. I hit 4 of a kind on 5's and J's, won with a pair of 10's and lost on AA to QQ than hit trips. On the three hands I won there were higher pairs or at least AK pre-flop. Luck is definitely a factor!

I think poker is more skill than luck. I mean everyone gets lucky now and again, but the skillful players win over the long haul. If your a terrible player who gets lucky than u might win a session or two, or go on a good run...but eventually your luck is going to run out. A skillful player is going to win on a consistent basis.

It's all luck

It's either good luck or bad luck. Skill is when you can drive an 18wheeler in the snow.:)

So that new series about Alaska'a lifeline through the bush pilots that's about to start says in the commercial, and I quote... "Iceroad truckers are a bunch of Pu$$ies."... now I think both take balls...but that just came to mind when I saw your post lol I dunno why.

I believe experience helps you in certain hands but i also believe lady luck has to be on your side alot more than being skilled

I don't know what the most intelligent answer would be. If I had to guess I would guess that statistics don't lie so "skills" but ah... Luck sure does help, though.

Poker is guess-work. Guessing right most of the time is a skill. Not being able to guess right requires luck. Bad players require luck. Good players require skill. The game needs both.

A bit of both really. If you're a completly newbie player like myself, you rely on more luck than skill lol. If you're a good player like a top pro, I'm saying the skill comes in a hell of a lot more.

To be a winner overall at the game it needs skill. Durrrr Ivey et al get the same cards as us, but they make more money because they better.
