poker movies

what are some good poker movies out there....and dont tell me rounders...ive seen it...many times

You can check this thread for a good basis-- Poker Movies --just remember not to post a reply there because it's 2 years old.

For the most part, it's safe to assume that if poker is the main subject of a movie then it's bad. Especially if it's a serious movie (The Grand wasn't too bad, for example, because it was a comedy).

The only "serious" poker movie I rate* other than Rounders is Lucky You, but I know I'm very much in the minority on that one. You've gotta have a pretty high tolerance for Drew Barrymore to enjoy it, I think...

* that I've seen - and no, I haven't seen The Cincinnati Kid or whatever it is

I hate Drew Barrymore, but I agree with you, Lucky You is the only other "poker movie" that I like besides Rounders for the poker aspect, the others are like you said, primarily something else(Western style, comedy, etc.)
