[/B]I have had times in the past where I believe I was playing addictively. (Thankfully, I'm very strict with my poker budget/limits so it hasn't caused me any financial harm.) During these times, I realized that I began to play addictively when I was chasing a dream. I'd get so excited about getting a top prize in a particular MTT that I'd burn through my poker fund in a very short amount of time, because I'd keep playing and playing, and not getting enough sleep. And of course, the lack of sleep was beginning to affect my ability to play well and focus.

I finally began to accept that poker isn't all about determination and skill. There is also a luck factor and some days you just run cold and take a bad beat at the worst time in the tourney. So now I just relax, play my best game and not worry so much about the top prize. I don't stay up late when I should be sleeping and I don't chase the game anymore.
