To the extent of how far they choose to go with poker is up to each person. The reality of poker many find out is not what they may have envisioned. To be successful at poker takes a lot of time and work to become successful. Most fall short of their own reality for example, when we were all growing up we were told we can be anything we want to be, President, Astronaut, Professional Baseball player etc...

To keep in one's own reality in poker we must realize it takes hard work and many ups and downs along the way and to succeed at any level of poker and it may never happen. This is why most never make it out of the micro level and could possibly develop a gambling problem because most try to chase the dream of either making life changing money or playing professionally.
