Poker Tracker questions

hey all i am new to poker tracker and trying to figure it out.

Does VP - Voluntarily Put Money in mean limp?

How often does it refresh your stats in the graph, etc?

Finally, does it have to be running to keep track of your stats and create graphs, etc?

VP means that you willingly added money to the pot so it includes raises. PFR is your preflop raise frequency. VPIP-PFR is the amount that you limp.

I haven't used running graphs so I'll leave that to others.

You can have Poker Tracker read hand histories well after you are done playing. You only need PT running while you are playing when using a HUD that uses PT stats.

Correct. You can read all your HHs in after you finish a session if you don't want to use the HUD, but the HUD is a VERY valuable tool.

Thank you. Yes i am trying to learn how to use the valuable information it provides. One thing that stumps me is the agression factor. If it is listed as infinite is this because of too small of a sample size? Second what would be a high agression factor as compared to a passive one? thanks

Aggression factor is calculated as (# of times bet or raise) divided by (# of times call). Checking or folding do not factor at all (this is all post-flop, by the way). So if your stats on someone has them with an aggression factor of infinity, it means you haven't witnessed them call a bet post-flop. And yes, this is almost always due to a small sample size. AF takes a long time to converge, so it's not accurate until you have a lot of hands on someone. PT3 uses a new stat, aggression frequency, which takes into account checks and folds.

An AF of 1.0 means a person bets or raises as much as he calls. Less than 1 means he calls more, or is more passive. Between 1 and 1.5 is average. Greater than 1.5 or 2.0 is considered aggressive.
