Hello.Undoubtedly, both of these areas have a lot in common. Obviously, one who does not have enough patience and discipline is doomed to failure in both of these areas.

The only similarity between a poker player and a trader is making a profit ... Everything else is completely different. The financial market does not have a random number generator, and poker is not affected by the financial statements of states, unemployment, and bank interest rates. My opinion is that a good poker player cannot become a successful trader, but this is just my opinion ;)

I have read about some concepts in financial market that seems too much to poker and vice versa. So yes, I think they are very similar and we can apply on them knowledges of each other.

The principal similarity between the finavial Market and the poker is in the perception about the risk.

I think they are very similar. They are both math based and success in both is measured in terms of return. Even the terminology is similar....return on investment, risk of ruin, expected return, etc.

This is of course banal, but there and there there is a struggle for profit.

I remember that Chris Ferguson was a guest speaker at some Financial Market Trading course explaining how poker is similar to trading.

Many common things between poker and trading mainly risk management, making good decisions.

As in poker and trading in the financial markets, it is necessary to strictly adhere to the risks and follow the bankroll management.

you can find an equivalent analogy of poker hands/types of games, with concepts from the financial
-options, pennystocks, etfs

maybe the exception of GICs, there's no guarantee in poker or the safest play that always makes money (slowly)

They are very similar. You can win big in both. But you can also do all the research and buy into a great company and get taken to the cleaners by some unforeseen incident. Like in poker, you can be playing AA and still get taken out by 7 2 off-suite.

If we force to see it, then we're going to find out several similarities between Poker and Financial Market like Stocks. However, it's very different.

When I'm talking about Financial Market, I'm talking about non-leveraged products and also non-crypto currency. It's like Stocks, Mutual Funds, Bonds, etc.

In Financial Market the investors are quite passive. Even though for a day trader. They don't have to watch the screen most of the time.

Poker Players, both online or offline, have to be active.

If we talk about risk, both have some kind of risk to some degree. Every business has risks.

It's very silly if we compare Poker with Financial Market. Both are very different, and as I mentioned before, if we force ourselves to find the similarities then we'll have one or two.

Don't believe me? Please find any similarities between North Korea and the United States of America!

Hello, I think poker and the stock market have nothing in common at all! In the stock market there are a lot of different little things that can influence price growth, which you can't as well influence, it is influenced by external factors, and in poker there is just a random number generator and there are your opponents and you just replay with experience, perhaps just bluff, but bluff in the stock market I think you can't do anything! But it's just my opinion, and I'm a poker newcomer, so don't judge me strictly! I wish everyone good luck and good luck!
