The major thing I have noticed is the rake. I have been looking up many of what I perceive to be the best players at the stakes I am playing and there win rates are not as big as people would think. typically most of them are multi tabling like me.

One thing I notice is that the majority of there money is coming from rakeback.

if your playing a typical low stakes fixed limit game for example you can expect to pay 5BB in rake and an exceptional player usually achieves 2bb in profit before rake back.

if your playing 5+ tables this can be an acceptable profit of $22.50 an hour. not a career but an impressive start to bank roll building.

now if you increase the rake from 5% to 10% your now paying 10bb per 100 hands.

you go from been a winning player of 2bb per hundred before rakeback to a losing player of 3bb per 100. I assume these cruise chips are not offering rakeback.

the point is set the rake high enough and it is almost/literally impossible to beat.

I do love the idea of been on a poker cruise ship with total idiots but 10% nope will not do it.

do they charge you for cruise tickets? at that rake charge they should be paying you to go.
