This is going to sound obvious, and more than a little trite, but the safest method is this one: take the glasses off.

Failing that, try facing forward and only looking down with your eyes, rather than your whole head.

Question though: why are you wearing them in the first place?

I thought of this a while ago and then thought how many players do you see wearing mirrored glasses.

Why run the risk of accidently showing anything when a simple dark pair would do the job just fine, if you need any at all :)

the reason i want to wear them is so people dont know that i am watching them so they are less likley to fake tells also i find myself giving a lot of tells off with my eyes. the reason i just dont use a dark pair is they will be to dark to see the cards in a card room. and also my gf bought me these 200 dollar oakley strieght jackets that have black irridium lenses so i want to get as much use out of them as possible. i also see many pros using mirrored oakleys to name a few jesus, phil helmuth, the fossil man. i just want to know the way they look at the cards but it always goes to the hidden cam so you dont see them look at them.

Honestly, unless you put those cards right in front of your face and study them real hard for too long, nobodies going to see anything. The cards are way down on the table, and your head should be not even close to the table.

But if your really worried about it, you could always test it on someone else, say your gf. Just sit at a table with her, have her wear your glasses, deal her some cards. If you can catch her cards in the reflection, figure out a way that will work.

If I got glasses I will wear them at a table. But usually I dont. So I try to use my eyes for manipulation, and forcing pressure. Its wierd but sometimes staring down a person who just made a big bet, and them seeing you seeing them can be a usefull tool.

yeah somone told me that before i find that the only people that have a chance to see my cards through these glasses are the people on the sides of me. i tested them out at a 60 dollar no limit table and was doing well with them but then i got parinoid and took them off.

That's when you make a begining gesture of pulling the shades off and then staring, which may mean "just try me, I don't even need my shades for this hand..." or whatever.

I don't need no sunglasses at the table. I think controlling your emotions/tells at the table is something that we all need to learn to overcome, personally. I'd feel way too silly wearing shades inside, at the table....:p But hey, to each his own.

I think JblackII gave the best advice. I really don't think you have to worry about it, but like he said, sit with someone and test it out. Have them sit from all angles; across the table, both sides of you, etc.

Fisherman say, the more expensive the glasses the faster they sink. Probably true with breaking/losing them as well :D

If someone's wearing mirrored glasses and they're not being careful, they don't need to hold the cards up to their face for someone to be able to see a reflection of their cards.

If another player can even get a glimpse of the colour of the hole cards, they can sometimes use it to their advantage.
