Wasn't sure in which subforum to post, so here's goes nothing:

What is the best way to handle rebuys/reloads in a small private home cash game.

First, let me understand the protocol in a casino game (I've never been). As far as I understand, you can buy in between min and max, typically 40-100 BB, and reload up to max after any hand.

But it seems like it'd be a pain to have to handle reloads after every single hand. Obviously if someone busts out they can buy back in, but what if they get short?

I've heard a few solutions.

1) One is to treat like online where you can reload whenever you want.
2) A friend at his home game does a flat buyin (max = min) of 100 chips for fairness reasons, and you can only reload with a new rack of 100 chips if you go below 25 chips (meaning you can actually go up to 125 with a reload). This makes it easy to keep track since you can only buy racks, no partial buy-ins, where someone buys $40, another $100, another reloads $77, etc. Also makes it more fair by everyone having equal starting stacks and no one ever getting above 125 without actually winning it.
3) An online site suggested only allowing 1 reload per hour, with exception for busting out - keeps there from being too many reloads but still have to deal with fractional amounts
4) Another online site suggested allowing rebuys anytime you went below minimum, but only back up to maximum

What do people think of these? Any sound better than others? Anything else I missed?

I like either option #2 for simplicity and fairness (although fairness wasn't part of the original question) or combo between #3 and #4.
