What do you think if God is okay with this game? It's difficult for me because I'm a Christian, but I love the world of poker

If you have to ask the answer is probably No.

1 Timothy 6:9-10

9 Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

Fwiw I'm on team poker not team monotheism

I think that's a question every Christian has to answer for themselves. Personally, I don't see poker as inherently wrong if it's played responsibly and doesn't become an obsession.

For me, the key is whether it's a healthy hobby or something that starts controlling your life, finances, or faith.

But I'm not a Christian so it's up to you

The main advantage of poker for me, as a believer, is that in this game, like no other, success depends on God. Of course, luck—another name for Divine will—is important in football or wrestling, to a lesser extent in basketball, and even less so in, say, chess. However, only in poker is God a full-fledged participant in the competition.

God is only okay with GTO players, exploitative players are probably going to hell

I think it all depends with our intentions and view of it, and also how you play, for example, drinking alcohol is not a sin but it leads to sin and all sorts of immoral behavior's hence it's wrong, but directly it ain't. Now poker is a social game, about skills and less of gambling but if it leads you to steal or abscond on your duties and responsibilities, lie to family and friends that way it will be a sin otherwise if you play with what you can afford to lose or just for fun and love of the game I don't think it's a sin

It depends on the person's religion, I remember reading somewhere that Islam doesn't support card games, I'm Catholic, my religion doesn't say anything about it, in other words, whether this is right or wrong depends on each person's beliefs.

Poker isn't bad. God gives us the freedom to survive, let alone steal, everyone with their own luck, the important thing is to respect others whoever wins.

How do you think God feels about poker? I think the game itself isn't necessarily a problem; what matters is our motives, our self-control, and whether it turns into an unhealthy obsession. I'm interested in hearing different points of view. What do you think?

I think that's something each person has to work through according to their own faith and conscience.

For me, poker itself isn't the issue. It's how you approach it. If it becomes greed, addiction or starts harming your responsibilities, that's a problem. But if it's played with discipline, honesty and self control, I don't see it the same way.

If it keeps bothering you, it might be worth talking to someone you trust in your church. Peace of mind is worth more than any winning session.

I think this is a personal decision. Many religious people have different views on poker. For me, the important question isn't just the game itself, but how you play it and whether it starts to control your life. If poker remains a form of entertainment, played responsibly and within your values, that's very different from becoming obsessed with gambling. In the end, everyone has to follow their conscience.
