Problem is, it just has the appearance of 'some' members of Congress not being able to wait to get their hands on internet gambling, new taxes, and the money, staff and 'positions' it would generate.

HR2267 is titled: "[I]Internet Gambling Regulation, Consumer Protection, and Enforcement Act"[/I]
 
[I][B]Gambling [U]Regulation[/U][/B] ...[/I] yeppers, we see constantly what Congress is capable of 'regulating' and 'how' they go about it. :( 
 
[B][I]Consumer [U]Protection[/U][/I][/B] ... yeppers, I already feel protected by Congress daily. (sarcasm more: [off]) :eek: 
 
[B][I]and [U]Enforcement[/U] Act[/I][/B] ... yeppers, and we are all happy about how Congress is 'enforcing' other pieces of their legislative 'BS'. :mad: 
 
Best answer is to get rid of the UIGEA and get down to leaving internet gaming up to the individual states. The Federal government has NO expertise in internet gambling and my greatest fear is that US Congressional interference would only be a vehicle for our Congressmen to pillage and rape another source of taxes and fund more 'committees' and 'special project amendments' for us to pay for.
 
Out with UIGEA ... in with individual state controls.
