The goal is to add a little bit of luck to keep skill players from making too much, this in all odds increases the rakes, and increase the amount of money that stays in the site. To me until I see different I play quite different in online backwards, and it works but still no where near the joy of playing live playing the hand "correctly".  I have won in almost every live session I have played and suffered almost no truly badbeats, maybe one per night.  My opinion.
