Is this the right buyin games for my bankroll

This is a follow up to my Thread (i need help and advise badly)

After reading all the advise you gave me in that thread which has really helped I have just made a deposit into full tilt.

I reread Harrington vol 1 on tournaments & changed my game.

Late last night (UK time) I entered a $2.25 180 player mtt sng and came 8th
This morning I entered a $2.25 3 table sng and came 4th.

I am very pleased with my play in the last 2 Tournaments. I know it is early days & there is still room for improvment.

I played much better than I have been playing, I payed attention to what all the other players were doing, whether they were Tight or loose and keeping track on what bets & raises they were making with which hands. When i did finally go out I went in with the best hand in both Tournaments

My bankroll is now up to $150.00

I am planning to enter $2.25 MTTs & .2-.5 cash games.
Could you please tell me if this is right for my Bankroll.

Yeah, ur rolled for 5nl cash games with 30 buyins and your rolled for, i think, $3 MTT's, which is 2% of your roll, some people say 1% for MTT's though.

Depends on the size of the MTT. But if you are a good player then 150$ is enough for 2.25's easily. Of course if you are playing 18 man's its a lot less variance so the smaller the MTT the more aggresive BRM you can use.

Depends on your confidence in your own game, and your experience of 'swings' in your previous bankroll. (obv. they should be less severe now you've got a better grasp of BRM and have invested in Harrington etc) but for SnG's, an aggressive stance is 25/30 buy in's ($50+ would be ok for that) and a very conservative aim is 100 buy in's (so $225).
After reading your previous posts and seeing your serious about sticking to your limits, I'm pretty sure your ok with $150. Thats just over 65 buy in's for where your at. You could even chance odd $3 games (I think Tilt only run the KO game at that level though).
As was mentioned above, i'd drop it slightly for MTT's, there is far more variance playing those, larger field means plenty less cashes there than in sit n go's.

I'm not trying to tempt you out of your current level, but its healthy to take the OCCASSIONAL step up. What I mean is, dont burn out just playing the $2 games, have a pop at the $5 once in a while. Just one game to break it up. It also prepares you for the standard of play at the next level.
Tilt run the 'Token' games, and i'm fairly sure there is one at the $4 point. 9 seats, winner gets a $26 token and 2nd gets a tenner. Worth a look, as these are the only chance you'll get in the near future to play either the $26 SnG's, or the juicy MTT guarantees (about half of them are a $26 buy in).

Also, while I remember, there was a similar thread to this a while ago where it was mentioned that a 'brm' is only really implimented once you've reached a level you would be unable to re-deposit at.
i.e. if you are able to put $50 in again after you've gone broke, without really missing it, then by all means take risks by playing higher stakes to build your roll first. Some people will regard $50 as a bankroll, others consider it just a bit of playing money and will only impliment strict rules as far as buy-in's once they hit a few hundred.

if you want continued, steady growth of your bankroll...cash games are the place to do it...you need to be well read on cash games(hinthil gordons little blue book)...sure MTTs provide an opportunity for a high payout, but even pros only cash 40 percent of the time......i play full time here at the casino here in niagara falls ny...I spend about 38 hours a week at cash tables and only play 1 50 dollar mtt a week...i think with your BR on FTP you are safe to play the .05 to .10 cent table...as for mtts...i i personally think anything online below 10 dollars is a waste of time...just too many players and too many bad ones...so maybe invest most of your time at cash tables until you are comfortable playing a buyin of at least 10 dollars regularly

I took kevkojak's advise and entered the $4.40 sat for a $26 token. Won it and entered the $26.00 45 player mtt sng, came 6th for $54.00 which now brings my BR to just over $200, so I can now play the .5/.10 nl cash games
