Cash players dont need variance...the folks that walk out of the casno with the biggest stacks usually arent the biggest winners in cash games in the medium and certainly long run. Its usually the folks who come in, play good solid TAG poker, never or rarely spew and leave up a buying or so consistently who are the true winners in the game. To put it plainly: If you are looking for an outlet to replace athletics....where competitiveness is really out in the open and where results are known to all, play tournaments...but dont whine when you realize very, very few folks make MEANINGFUL money consistently at them when rake and losses and opportunity costs are figured in. If you are looking to be a profitable gambler, play live cash and perhaps some large field medium buyin tournaments interspersed. Be happy with grinding out a good hourly in a relaxing environment which allows you to gamble without being on TV or on Pckt 5's....etc. [/QUOTE]
