A Royal Flush may be as rare as Unicorn's do-do, but I have made a few Royal Flushes over the last twenty years, the hardest part is making them pay, sometimes if you bet out with 3 suited cards on the Flop they already may suspect you of having a Flush anyway, so will fold.
The best way to play them is to check and hope someone else has a Flush draw or made their straight and is willing to put money into a pot they cannot possibly win.
I find most Royals hit you when you play hands like K/J, or Q/10 or K/10 I have never made one holding an A/K funnily enough, but that is probably because I hate Big Slick! even when it is suited, (just a pet hate).
It is difficult for many players to throw away three of a kind even when they are holding Pocket Aces if the flop comes A/Q/J/ suited and you are sat playing K/10 of the same suit, but you do get some of them folding.
I once made a full house with pocket Kings and was hoping my opponent was holding a Flush, unfortunately for me he was, The Royal type of Flush. but hey! That's Poker!
