Save face or win huge?

do you rather win a huge pot with a marginal hand, trash even, or save face at your table?

I play online, and I care very little about my "image".

I'm pretty sure I don't really have an image to preserve at poker, so I'd definitely take the huge pot.

Winning is always good. As for the reputation at the poker table - it's better to represent a stupid donk for a start, pays well at the end.

A very interesting question. Here's my take. I would rather go out on the bubble if I have a chance to win a huge pot and I have a decent hand. I would rather chance the win and place myself in a probable final table position, than win say $1.10 by folding and being one of the minimal win and out winners. I love the game and it does not bother me in the least to play that way (even after playing several hours).
Funny thing is I use to think just the opposite. I would hang in there to make the $1. My bank would dwindle down so far there was very little recovery and I would not last very much past the $1 win.
Crazy thing, it seems that the software makes a turn and plants bombs in the little guys lap toward the end. That's my belief. What I mean is I will have pocket aces, for example, and push. Only to have a bigger bank salute me with a pair of kings and the first thing that hits the board...you guessed it, is a fat king.
So, I might as well jump into the big bubble with a decent hand and hope my higher power sees to grant me the winner. I may then see all the folks and lights at the final table. WOW!
That's my 2 cents...about what it's worth I suppose.

So, I assume a boy has no image, no shadow, is nameless. A boy is happy being the tool of the many faced god.

I prefer win a huge pot.

Have you ever seen businessmen try to keep their face in business or behave like gentlemen? Competition in business is by no means fair.

Well, why do you need to choose so immediately ? )), this is not necessary at all.
You can also save face and break a big win at the same time
And also sometimes it is very useful to play garbage hands, in cash games it is more useful, in tournaments it is less useful.

Well, tbh EVERY CORPORATION HAS AN ETHIC CODE, winning money is the objective, but nhaving a trustworthy image draws much more business.

In poker all $ is good $. Fin.
