The secret to becoming a winning poker player involves a combination of skill, strategy and the right mindset. Here are some key elements:

Knowledge and Study:
Taking the time to learn the rules, strategies and nuances of poker is essential. Study the different formats of the game, such as Texas Hold'em, Omaha, among others. Explore books, videos, forums and online courses to enhance your understanding of the game.

Bankroll Management: Proper bankroll management is crucial to surviving poker swings. Set betting limits and be prepared to face periods of bad luck. Avoid risking an excessive proportion of your bankroll on a single hand or session of play.

Reading Players: The ability to read other players is critical in poker. Closely observe your opponents' actions, betting patterns, facial expressions and body language to gain valuable insight into their hands and intentions.

Patience and Discipline: Poker requires patience to wait for quality hands and discipline to avoid playing impulsively. Avoid making decisions based on emotions and stay true to your strategy, even during periods of bad luck.

Analysis and Self-Assessment: After each game session, review your plays and decisions. Identify strengths and weaknesses and work on improving your game. Be open to learning from mistakes and don't be afraid to adjust your strategy as needed.

Emotional Control: Poker can be an emotionally challenging game. It is important to maintain emotional control, avoid tilt and make rational decisions even under pressure. Learn to deal with victories and defeats without letting them affect your performance.

Persistence and Resilience: The path to becoming a successful poker player is not always easy. Be willing to face challenges, overcome obstacles and continue to improve your skills over time.

I agree with everything, except that you need to learn different formats of poker. On the contrary, I believe that it is very important to focus all efforts on only one type of game.

Personally I agree with different formats of Poker. Playing Texas Hold-em is one form that is considered to be the best of all poker games, but in order to compete in some Tournaments you need to know Omaha, Razz, Stud and Eights or better, to compete.
Why limit yourself with just one Game format?
I grew up playing Stud and 5 card Draw, which gave me a good basic knowledge of playing Poker but it is nothing compared to Hold-em, All formats need a different approach as do many Hold-em hands.
As the song lyrics go "You have to know when to Hold-em, Know when to Fold-em." Can be used for all Poker games but never more so than with Texas Hold-em.

The good old one, my poker motto too. Good to be not alone.

Hmmm... I'm not exactly sure this is a "secret". It's more like general advice. Kudos to that. (y)

Pretty much sums up what we know. It would be fine to include the author & source of the material.

Yes, I agree with you a lot, but there is also luck in poker, such a thing you also need to take into account because in an instant you can lose your entire stack and all your chips in one hand in which you are simply unlucky, so this happens, but in general I agree in the long run if you take everything into account and learn poker, you will rise to the limit higher

An excellent summarisation of success in poker.
The key element of this "secret" is the perseverence to follow-through all of this. That's the hardest
