Shocking WSOP Ruling

Probably lucky it wasn't a bloke or the dealer would have gotten a slap

Heard the same story from a guy who was playing at his local casino. He had his hands in his head for some reason and the dealer just took his cards. Sad. I probably would've smashed the dealer if he did that to me.

I assume none of you ever make mistakes in your job ever and when you do you'd gladly accept a smack in the chops in return?

The cards were right in front of her the dealer should have never reached for her cards when they were there. That was his mistake I would have demanded to get my cards back. Her cards were under the 2 that they picked up. I would have punched the guy right there. Bet he would be more carefull next time he went to grab cards.

Wow!! If it was one of the pros they wold have done better by them....i dont think then floor supervisor believed her....

I saw that on TV as well. I woulda cussed every person at that casino that had anything to do with it and beat that dealer till he turned white and grew some hair LMAO a 10k buy in and a dealer that dont know what the hell he is doing. He should be fired on the spot!!!!!

i saw this televised but didn't see the very beginning. it should be her fault for not protecting her cards. but then again what was the dealer on shouldn't he be paying attention. i'm sure that cast him his job if anything.
she just sat away and her body language indicated she had no interest or involvement in the hand should i say---WRONG!! if she had the rockets those cards shouldn't leave her sight, hands. she defininately needs a card protecter.
and then need i mention, the fact that those aces weren't on top of the cards where they should've been.
this is something i never witnessed before, guess there's a first time for everthing. gl and peace.

everyone makes mistakes but at the end of the day hold your cards close. her cards are very close to the muck so a bit of a accident on bother parts to be honest.

This is the problem - the cards she claimed were hers weren't the ones they were supposed to be. What if they're not the next two either, is the floor supposed to go through every card in the muck and give her the first two aces that he finds, assuming there are even two in there? Zero chance the other players at the table will accept that and rightly so.

"Demanding" your cards back is just as stupid a solution as punching the dealer. Since there's obviously still some people that didn't bother reading my post above I'll say it again in big bold letters:

TO THE MACHO DROOLERS WHO ARE SUGGESTING THEY'D PUNCH / SLAP / WHATEVER THE DEALER:

1 - I assume you perform your own jobs with six-sigma accuracy all day, every day

2 - I assume you'd happily accept physical violence as a punishment if you fail that standard

3 - If either of the above are not true, then for crying out loud SHUT UP!

Keep in mind too that while the dealer may or may not get reprimanded for this, it's unlikely he'd be fired for it. Especially since the rules clearly state it's the player's responsibility to protect their hand.

You, on the other hand, would be thrown out of the tournament then likely banned from the casino and charged with assault if you punched the dealer, who'd still have his job. Makes it a pretty clever response, amirite?

When I was at the wsop a player tried to pick a fight with one of the dealers for not making change on every street (of Stud 8). He even let an F-bomb fly in front of the floorman and got no penalty. The dealer was removed and given a talk by the floorman. I can understand why some pros complain about the consistantcy of rulings made at the WSOP.

But you have it dead on with your post Oz. Player is at fault here, dealer should have been more careful, but should not be punched.
