So were still chatting and the flop comes with the other 2s. So here we are still talking about flopping quads (because of the prior hand) and I have just flopped quads. I had 3 people betting into me after the flop, 2 still in on the turn, and 1 betting into me on the river. Imagine the reaction when I turn over my flopped quads -- not just by the guy who was still in and lost, but by the whole table. 2 hands of flopping quads back to back?!? WTF?!? So here we are chatting about that, the guy to my left (now in the CO) ends up flopping a boat and taking THAT to the river as well with people betting into him! So to recap, in 3 consecutive hands we have had a player in late position flop quads twice and the 3rd flop a boat. Needless to say, we were making a lot of noise about this and word of it was spreading to the other tables. But we weren't done! About 10 minutes later, the guy to my right (the first quadflopper), gets... well, let's just say you never want to hear this at the end of a hand... [after river] (Using our poor unfortunate dude as the Hero) V: Check. H: Bet. V: Re-raise. H: All in. V: Call. H: I've got a straight flush. V: So do I! Yes, he got knocked out straight flush over straight flush. When you have the ass end of a 4-card straight flush on the board, the last thing you want to hear is "so do I!" Ok... so this is exciting, right? Now the whole room is a combination of buzzing and fearing us. When people are getting moved to our table, they are saying things like, "Wait... so you guys are the flopping quads straight flush over straight flush table? Fuuuu..." So later on, I'm doing fairly well, and, get this... I flop quads again. And yes, I had someone betting into me all the way to the river (can't remember if I got him to shove or not). So now I have flopped quads twice in one night. And I'm not done. Even later, with about 25% of the field remaining, I get quads for a 3rd time... this time on the turn. For this one, I was in EP so I had to hope that my checks would come home as check calls. They did. On the river, I could tell the guy was strong (it was a pretty wet board) so he would probably bet again. My stack size was getting into shove territory too so I knew if he bet, I would come over the top. I checked one last time, taking this chance that he would come at me with a value bet. He did. I looked a little pissed, and hollywooded for a bit -- out loud, too. ("Wow... really? Damn... um..." You know the drill.) So looking at my cards again then tossing them down, I said... "Aw, what the hell?" And shoved. It wasn't that much more since his bet had been about 2/3 of my stack and he, without hesitation (almost looking at me with a smirk), called and tabled his reasonably strong hand. (I don't remember what it was, but it was solid.) When I showed my quad Ks, the table went completely dead with wide eyes. One guy said, "Wow... I figured you were strong, but not that strong. You fooled me!" Another guy added, "Yeah... no shit. Me too." At that point, one guy started clapping slowly while looking at me. Another joined him... and another. I ended up getting a standing ovation. I took that opportunity to thank my parents, the director, the dealer, the rest of the cast... you know, as if I was accepting my award for acting. So, to sum up, I had quads three times -- flopped twice, turned once -- all with people betting solidly into me all the way to the river, I had flopped quads and boats on either side of me, saw a guy get knocked out straight flush over straight flush, got a standing ovation for my Hollywood skills... :cool: And yes, I won that tournament.
