Hi! I am Marsel. it is my first post.

I’ve been playing online poker for about 7 years.
Right now I mostly play Mystery Battle Royale tournaments in the $10–$25

Over the past few years I’ve been trying to combine poker with living in different countries.

Recently I moved to Vietnam and decided to spend some time here in 2026.
It’s actually my first time in Asia.

So far my impressions are quite positive:

stable internet

pleasant climate

a lot of opportunities to walk by the sea

relatively low cost of living
IMG 3833
My typical day looks something like this:

I wake up at 5 AM (for me it’s the best time to start playing),
play a session, then go for a walk or do some sports, sometimes swim in the pool.
In the evening I usually relax a bit or study poker theory.

I started sharing my experience online.
I’m interested in connecting with poker players from different countries.
IMG 3154
I’ll be sharing my experience of moving between countries:
Argentina, Chile, Georgia, Turkey and now Vietnam
and how I organize my workspace for playing.

Hi there , I’m currently living in DaNang. Have been for almost a year, currently with my daughters in Miami for the week , ask me how much I loved 30 hours of coach and layovers 😁

My morning is walking the beach around 5 am and enjoying all the locals doing their thing , whether it’s swimming , dancing , badminton , beach soccer/volleyball ball , yoga , etc etc . I don’t know what part of Vietnam you are in , but I don’t go to the casinos. I’ve been told they have cash games for foreigners but also sooo much smoking at the tables, so that would never work for me.

While poker tournament play is legal , there are strict guidelines. Danang unlike Hanoi or Ho Chi Min, has a hard time with poker clubs , I’ve played at 3 and now in my 4th because they are always getting shut down and all us players wait for the next one to open, currently the go to one is Wyndham by the beach . I’ve only played twice but they walk me outside to give me the money to make sure they aren’t violating any rules 🤷‍♀️

I love my life in Danang , I hope you do too 🙂

Foreigners can visit special casinos in economic zones upon presentation of a passport. For long-term residence, it is necessary to obtain an appropriate visa, such as a work or investor visa, since it is not possible to officially play or work on a tourist visa.

I can play on wpt global, just not a big online player so there's probably more.

Just because you can use a vpn , it's folly. Poker rooms have geo tracking and you can be sure you will be found out and say bye-bye to your funds.

I'm interested to hear more about your choice of games, & your poker play.

I would like to travel there one day but for now there's nowhere I'd rather be then right where I am in B.C. Canada. (although it is getting a tad expensive)

Thank you. I wish there were more hours in a day so I could spend more time on content. I had a great time in Chile, in the coastal town of La Serena. Maybe one day I will repeat that experience.

A flight to Miami — that must be quite a journey, especially with the whole family. I’m curious to hear about it, I’m sure you had some funny moments along the way.

In the coming week we are flying to China for a week, and then returning to Vietnam to renew our visa for another 90 days.

As far as I know, online poker in Vietnam is not restricted and is allowed. I play on GG Poker and don’t need a VPN here. Unfortunately, I don’t know about other rooms.

Nice to meet you. I will definitely make a more detailed post + I also want to record a YouTube vlog about it later.

I only play on GG, I don’t know about other rooms. I started waking up early only after moving to Vietnam about 2 months ago, and I really like it. It feels easy to wake up.

I will create a separate thread about my poker results and my approach to game selection.
Canada is very expensive. Do you play poker? It’s not easy to live in a country like that on poker income.

I always wanted to try this kind of lifestyle, and I’m glad poker gives me that opportunity. It’s not for everyone, because there are many things you have to deal with when moving, but it’s worth it.

Hi Marsel, welcome to CardsChat.

I was hoping to be in Vietnam in July to visit with @belladonna05 for a few weeks as well as some other things but that's now been put on hold due to my partner having health issues that need urgent attention.

Good luck with your poker games.

We have freerolls on WPT Global. I wish I could play there, because they seem to have a lot of good games and promos. If you're interested we have a sign-up link here: https://tracking.wptpartners.com/visit/?bta=370&nci=5373

They have an Asian promo coming up that I will be posting about soon. @belladonna05 you might be interested in it too. There's also this promo:
Freeroll Your Way to The Battle of Malta with WPT® Global

Ha! I don't mean to sound like an ad - just wanted to give you some options to help grow your bankroll. And I wish I could play there.

I have 3 daughters, two live in Indiana and one does the van life, we all flew to Miami to visit together for my youngest 40th. I was the only one that had the torture of flying that far lol

I hope I’m not misunderstanding this but you have to apply for Vietnamese visa outside Vietnam. You can also stack them, I’m applying for 2 for a total of a 6 month time frame right now. I only like to do 2 90 day visas at a time because you never know when plans change. ( like they did for this last minute trip lol)

Traveling the world isn't a luxury; it should be a necessity for everyone. I'll be following your experiences because I plan to move and travel from Venezuela in Q3 2027 to Spain, Portugal, and Bulgaria (for my literary writing project and retirement). I'd also like to visit places like Réunion Island and one day explore New Zealand... aaaaaaaaaaaaand much play Poker Live&Online
