Stealing the blinds from the Cut-off seat

Just want to ask, if any of you tries to steal the blinds if you are from the cut-off seat (pre-flop) and you don't have any strong hole cards whether if the players from the blinds protects their blinds strongly or not

?

"Cutoff" - This is the player to the right of the button. It's called the cutoff because that position often "cuts off" the dealer's ability to steal blinds by betting.

I personally rarely try to steal blinds just because it is riskier than necessary action in most cases. As far as the blinds go, they only protected in those cases when they ended up having respectably good hole cards.

It all depends on my table,my image at my table,lots of factors really.
My game changes up quite a bit so I would say in the right situation from time to time,yes I will steal the blinds from the cutoff position.

Sometimes I prefer to steal from the cut-off.
If I have nothing, it seems a bit more like a legitimate raise than a steal attempt.

I personally don't think that stealing the blinds with ANY 2 CARDS is a clever thing, unless the players in the blinds are very tight..because then i know....if they call me or raise me they have a good hand.Anyway I often steal the blinds with hands i consider "decent", like Ax suited or x>9 if offsuite , or suited connectors..and with almost any pair

I think you might be missing out on the point of stealing. To steal with any two cards is to try and win the blinds relatively cheaply with position. If the blinds reraise you, you fold. If they just call, you are giving yourself a chance to have a totally disguised hand. Say you raise from the cutoff with 76o and the flop comes 77A. Someone in the blinds with an Ace may not put you on an Ace or may put you on an Ace with a weak kicker and then you get even more chips from them. If you miss the flop completely, then just fold.

You don't have to steal every orbit from the same position to make it worthwhile. Just as long as it works out enough in the long run. Plus it'll help your image a bit, as you won't be defined as a complete rock.

Other players will definitely take note of you when you bet on the Dealer seat consecutive times...it's really going to be obvious.

But one thing that I really noticed lately is that other players now are stealing the blinds from the Cut-off seat even if they don't have good hands...it does pays off about 65% of the time based on my observation

I steal from the CO as often as possible. Especially in 6-max. If you only steal from the button, be prepared to be "cut off."

it s very fun when u want to steal blinds with 27 or amth and opponents have ak or aa and u get 27...

I tried stealing the blinds from the Cut-off seat w/ only 52o...
fortunately they all fold

LOL. It's fun forcing them to fold when your stealing the blind from the cut-off but I only do it rarely and it also depends on my opponents.

Yes, I will attempt to steal the blinds from the COP with or with out rags ...I won't do it often and always reminded of the player types to my left.

I only personally do this from the button, and only on occasions, not to be obvious. BUT, I think you have quite a good point, it could work well to your advantage. Even if they call, your hand becomes quite well disguised. You also this way automatically get dealer position (if dealer does not call), and are last to act, and can usually get the better part of a flop if they don't hit.

I don't care what I have. If everyone folds to me and I have position. I am going to raise to try to steal those blinds. Especially late in a tournament when the blinds are huge. I think that is a great strategy

thats what i like about these forums.....i always thought the seat b4 the button should"ve been called something, because i think it is the best seat to be in if you want to steal the blinds and any limpers calls also....."cutoff seat".....learn something new every day.....tnx
