When switching to cash games one must focus on their play post flop. With stacks almost always above 50 bb our post flop mistakes are magnified. MTT players have the least practice post flop as most tournament hands are played in descending frequency  preflop -flop -turn- seldom river.

In cash games it is possible to get only 2 streets of value and more often you want to get that value turn -river not preflop -flop. One reason is that turn -river value is much greater than preflop -flop value. The big bets come on the turn and river. So when we miss play our hand, we can lose on the river 40+ BB.  In many MTT hands we would only have 25 BB stacks to start.

As to mental anguish. 
Many MTT players like getting all in preflop or flop because they make no mistakes on the turn and river. You will now be making many more mistakes or perceived mistakes because you will be playing many more turn and rivers.

Which means we must be better at refining our hand ranges on each street to have the optimal range on the river. We cannot focus on relying on hand strength preflop.
