Taking a half day off

I’ve been hitting the R9 tables like crazy lately and I’ve been doing pretty good today. I’m gonna take a half day off and go to a movie with my kids. The new super Mario movie.
Just putting it out there and that everyone needs to have balance and I need to start to try and find mine. I do have an another job besides poker so I got a healthy balance everybody enjoy your game on the tables. Sunday is my favourite day so I’m taking a half day off to spend it with family. That’s exactly what you should do. When we’re recreational players and don’t depend on this financially, there’s no need to force it when we don’t feel like playing. Take time to rest with the people you love, and come back stronger.

Taking half a day off is equivalent to mental recovery.
Poker requires a lot of concentration; fatigue lowers your win rate; exhaustion leads to invisible mistakes (mild tilt, poor decisions).

Having another job besides poker reduces financial pressure; prevents playing with “scared money”; allows for better decision-making without anxiety. However, it can prevent moving up in stakes, split your focus, and slow down progress.

Every year I take July and December off. I travel with my family, which really helps to de-stress my mind and body.
