[QUOTE="ZackK19, post: 1084802, member: 50570"] A couple days ago I was talking about the ultra LAG style I was using.Today I decieded to take the TAG approach except with a twist I would'nt be like most TAG poker players and raise with only pairs and face cards. For example if everybody limped or raise, I would raise or reraise with ugly cards and play them hard after the flop by using postion and to mix up my game .Example of using position with an ugly j3 in mirco. PokerStars Game #24960033889: Hold'em No Limit ($0.01/$0.02) - 2009/02/15 6:01:44 ET Table 'Lesath II' 6-max Seat #3 is the button Seat 1: fgmm2406 ($3.07 in chips) Seat 2: Poker_Kees_1 ($5.22 in chips) Seat 3: contour66 ($0.71 in chips) Seat 4: ZackK19 ($6.04 in chips) Seat 5: Merlin089 ($0.61 in chips) Seat 6: RamzesS ($2.93 in chips) ZackK19: posts small blind $0.01 Merlin089: posts big blind $0.02 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to ZackK19 [Jd 3c] RamzesS: folds fgmm2406: folds Poker_Kees_1: folds contour66: calls $0.02 ZackK19: raises $0.06 to $0.08 Merlin089: folds contour66: calls $0.06 *** FLOP *** [2h Ts 6d] ZackK19: bets $0.20 contour66: folds Uncalled bet ($0.20) returned to ZackK19 ZackK19 collected $0.18 from pot ZackK19: shows [Jd 3c] (high card Jack) *** SUMMARY *** Total pot $0.18 | Rake $0 Board [2h Ts 6d] Seat 1: fgmm2406 folded before Flop (didn't bet) Seat 2: Poker_Kees_1 folded before Flop (didn't bet) Seat 3: contour66 (button) folded on the Flop Seat 4: ZackK19 (small blind) collected ($0.18) Seat 5: Merlin089 (big blind) folded before Flop Seat 6: RamzesS folded before Flop (didn't bet) Here another one with k3 off. PokerStars Game #24959525710: Hold'em No Limit ($0.01/$0.02) - 2009/02/15 5:30:10 ET Table 'Lesath II' 6-max Seat #6 is the button Seat 2: preac88 ($2.29 in chips) Seat 3: contour66 ($0.58 in chips) Seat 4: ZackK19 ($5 in chips) Seat 5: Merlin089 ($1.82 in chips) Seat 6: qspy ($0.94 in chips) preac88: posts small blind $0.01 contour66: posts big blind $0.02 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to ZackK19 [3h Ks] ZackK19: raises $0.06 to $0.08 Merlin089: folds qspy: folds preac88: calls $0.07 contour66: folds *** FLOP *** [6c 6h 5c] preac88: checks fgmm2406 joins the table at seat #1 ZackK19: bets $0.12 preac88: folds Uncalled bet ($0.12) returned to ZackK19 ZackK19 collected $0.18 from pot preac88 leaves the table ZackK19: shows [3h Ks] (a pair of Sixes) *** SUMMARY *** Total pot $0.18 | Rake $0 Board [6c 6h 5c] Seat 2: preac88 (small blind) folded on the Flop Seat 3: contour66 (big blind) folded before Flop Seat 4: ZackK19 collected ($0.18) Seat 5: Merlin089 folded before Flop (didn't bet) Seat 6: qspy (button) folded before Flop (didn't bet) Even these examples even though small example .New poker players need to be able to mix their game up.After awhile people wouldn't want to play against me ,because I was mixing my game up to the point I was playing a raise with 23 off then again raising with KJ on the button.Like doyles said Postion is power in Texas Holdem alot of the new TAG need to take risk you can always put the brakes on when getting called to the river. When the guy on the right of me bets less than half the pot or even less than that that should send waves to you mind that he weak.I would reraise to find out where I'm and also use the reraise to have him fold if he's on a marginal hand .By mixing up your game and using the power of the raise and reraise to steal pots and find where you at is very valuable in becoming a great player on the felt.Alot of people or wary of the risks with raising with anything but it pays didivends in the end.I have made 20 dollars in .01/.02 NL on pokerstars. That with a LAG and TAG with playing a mixed game where you can put your opponents on their heels.Even though I have made 20 dollars which equals to about 2000 Big Blinds of the .01/.02 NL mirco ring.Alot people say you have to move up limits when you do that.I also think if it ain't broke don't fix it.I will stay down this level and try to make a 1000 by the end of the year.If I can make 3 dollars a day on mirco limit .01/.02. I can reach that.So far I'm off to a good start. What the whole motto through this post is that newbie that can't get ahead need to fix the holes in their game.Everybody need to play a mix game to keep ahead of the compeition.Beyond contray you will bump in to some of the players you play again online. If you play a mix game you will never be figured out.
