it seems when i take a lot of time i mean like 4 days away from poker when i come back i play a lot better

i think if you are running bad you should try it take a few days off

i learned by doing this when i come back i am not ready to get into a ego battle and i usually end up getting a lot further into the game

i am wondering if anyone else notices this

Yes, i agree with you. When I get a run of bad cards it affects my game. Playing while on tilt or just not in the mood to play is not good for your bankroll. Taking time off always refreshes the mind.

I hear ya and it's a good idea, but I can't help but to suggest that
as you work on your game and address different leaks, you expose
one right there.

The trick to get better, imho, would be to realize that you may be
inclined to get into "ego battles" in the first place, and look for ways
to keep from doing that. (some of my reading of The Poker Mindset is kicking in here).

Of course, until you do, taking some time off may be a good idea.

You are absolutely right. When I first started playing, whenever I get on tilt I just go crazy. I knew I was on tilt, I knew I was playing bad, I knew I was making horrible calls to gamble, and I knew I was just going to lose more. It was felt bad. I knew I should stop, but I didn't want to. It was either win it all back FAST or lose it all. As you get more experience, you tend to control it better.

But there are just some days where you are constantly getting sucked out. You get it in good with the much better hand and you're just getting out drawn. You just got to play more and gain more experience to control swings like that. Good luck man. Hope you can control the tilt. : )

I agree with this, I give myself 4 or 5 days off a few times thru the year and I come back hungry to play.
