Skill games? Yes. But the competitive side of poker allows amateurs to sit with professionals to take a shot, and recreational players are bringing money to the game to be won. Does it sound like a fair competition? No.

Even in the highest levels we don't have many sponsors or strong teams competing because TV poker is not really selling that much and the community is not big. Honestly, poker is a little bit boring to watch on streaming or TV if you are not a player, is not like football or basketball.

Other thing: People won't pay tickets to see the final of the WSOP Main Event. So poker is a weird kind of game where people won't put their money to support professional teams or players but they will expend some bucks to try a shot to the title.

No, is not a sport. This is pure marketing.

It can be someday? Yes, but the first thing to change is the poker player mentality.

And after that, the structure of how the tournaments are built.

The way poker companies are supporting the game.

They prefer to bring some players to gamble a little bit, because is more profitable.

Probably won't change anytime soon.
