Which to me, seems like an ok strategy - if a straight/flush possibility is on, i've bet the turn etc. I suppose, i'm posting because atm i'm winning at 02/04 which is very low limits and from playing at 02/04 for the last four months - i've gone from $20 to $130 from just playing one table which is ok. I just want to move up the blinds to 25/50, but i keep reading that tight/passive is only a neutral, average strategy and won't work verus better players and your generally lose in the long term. Perhaps, not at 25/50 though. Maybe, i should upload some hands -) but basically, i'm posting because i've just lost three hands last session with one pair, playing very aggressively to trappy players - i've just been experimenting with a different style. Well, i just had A,Q and raised it up and had one caller and teh flop was good Q, 9, 4 no flushes. I bet 3/4 of pot... he calls. Now, i'd usually call/check it down.. but instead, i bet out on turn and river and he turns over K,K. Similar thing, when a dangerous flop came down with A,Q,10 with one caller.. when i've got A, K and i play it aggressive again and he turns over a set 10's. Well, i'm just after some advice - i'm lost with this tight/aggressive style and is it more to do with reads, knowing when your opponent is weak and bluffing etc - which to me is a more skillful, higher level and riskier style which is beyond my level atm. So for the time being, maybe passive is my best option. I'm still going to move up the blinds - i have $110 to play around with -) last point, i've played a few tournament and score tight/aggressive for them, as u have to up the aggression with the blinds going up every 10mins. So, is tight/aggressive more geared towards tournament play? I shouldn't really complain, when i'm winning little amounts. I'll ask for some advice, when my tight/passive style starts getting creamed at the higher blinds. Hey, any insight which you experts can give the beginner, i'd really appreciate.
