This is actually all what players need to know when starting playing poker, in fact, this is the very first thing to learn, even before studying poker and getting in to this game.
Measure of precautions are essential in every game, sport or hobby you are getting into, it’s like a wearing a helmet before you sit on your bike. Poker is no different from that, even though not every player reacts the same on loosing their money, so what’s important is to get to know yourself  and to know your limits, as much as you can.
Personally, like every player, i experience a downswings myself from time to time and i’ll have to agree that taking a break is a good decision to make. It’s a good way to isolate yourself from all the bad things going on at the tables and to keep your bankroll safe as much as you can, and to keep yourself from overwhelming with bad experiences and frustrations.
Technically, i would say that tilt is exactly what makes a difference between a gambler and poker player.
