what type of tournament payout structures do you guys prefer? I like flatter payouts, with more places paid. I feel like this lowers varience and requires more skill to beat in the long run. With top heavy payouts I feel you need a huge bankroll to beat them in the long run, since you have to get lucky and get the win and make final tables to get real money. Also, I personally feel the closer to the end of online tournaments, the more luck involved, due to huge blinds relative to average chip stack, post flop play is limited. I feel like it's a lot more work to just get into the money, and thus feel the lower itm places should be paid more.

that said, I did get lucky and win 2 (relatively small) tournaments on bodog recently which helped my bankroll a lot. I play bodogs beginner payout tourneys, which payout roughly 20%, but I feel they are way top heavy.

how do the tournaments payouts across different sites compare, and where can I find ones with flatter payouts and more places paid?

i prefer a smaller structure. im not a big full tilt fan, but they do have good payout structure unlike say stars, where they pay out top 20% most times. now if you have 3 or 4k people or more in tourney, then 20$ can be a lot and the prize pool can be way diluted. so i would rather have to work harder for more reward, than finish way lower and barely get my buyin back.
