I used to be a fish,donk,amature,spewy,noob. There was no reasoning before acting when in a hand. I would do anything i felt was the best move without ever thinking about why. Cardschat has brought the word [B]WHY[/B] into my game and i believe that this is the most important word that anyone who is studying poker, or playing poker, should be thinking before they do anything. [B]WHY[/B]!!????? My advice to any new member of this forum or to any new poker player who may be reading this is to ask themselves [B]WHY [/B]they are doing what they are doing. And its pretty obvious im talking about in a hand of poker. The biggest mistake i have noticed alot of people make is that they dont think about why they are acting in a certain way and this leads to them playing like a fish(not know what they are doing). If you can come to a good logical reasoning and make plays that are based on something that makes sense, then, IMO, you are on the road to becoming a better player.. Some of the WHYS may contain:--------------> Do i think i have the best had right now? Am i raising as a bluff or am i trying to get value? Will this bet get the villain off of what he is holding and how likely is it that it will not? Does this board look like something that i can represent according to the line i have taken? Why did the villain flat call from under the gun when he has been raising the past 2 hours nonstop? (is he trying to trap me maybe?) These are all some examples of WHY's that we must have in our mind when playing. Its not just about, ok i have aces,let me marry them and just try to get my money in the pot and not pay any attention to whats going on in the hand. Anyways, enough with the BS. ask yourself why your doing what your doing peeps and everything will be fine in the morning. Im no pro.(i didnt have to tell you that,everyone knows) . but im pretty sure im on the right path just by being a member of this forum. and one more thing, everyone here is my friend. It doesnt matter if youve imed me or ive imed you ,or if youve read my post or if ive read yours. We are all here because we have one thing in common.THE LOVE FOR THE GAME. So feel free to contact me or ask me anything at anytime.
