Like anything else (film or television) it would simply depend on the quality of the material. I could see a scenario where characters are introduced and you watch them climb the ladder of poker success. The series could inform people of the stresses and strains on personal relationships which is peculiar to the poker scene (the hours, the ups and downs). As someone has noted, it could also feature behind the scenes story lines (from casino managers to dealers).

Many poker films are enjoyable but actually lose their luster somewhat as the film has to proceed at a pace and scenes are cliched or contrived ( Rounders fits this category - entertaining but corny as hell in places).

One exception is Molly's World which many now rate it as their favorite poker movie. It is a story around poker with Molly running games - she is not even a poker player. It was directed and written by Aaron Sorkin (based Molly Bloom's book) and at the time I thought it would have made an interesting series (Aaron Sorkin was of course responsible for the West Wing).

As noted, like anything else it purely depends on the material.

Poker needs to think outside of the box to attract a new audience and this is a great idea [B]thaysen14[/B]!
