I've been trying to start playing it again, but I'm kinda confused at some specific rules and stuff, and the guy never told us the name of the game, so I can't look it up online. The game goes like this: Each of the players are dealt one card at first. The first player will then look at their card, and propose a possible poker hand that could be created if you could choose any of the combined cards of all players. The next player then has two options, he can either "call" that hand, or "raise". If you "call" a hand, everyone shows there cards, and if theres anyway to form that hand that was called, the "caller" loses, and theres a new round. The loser gets an extra card each round. The player could also raise instead of calling. So in this case, player 2 might say "ace high". Then player 3 has the choice of "calling" or "raising". If you get more than 5 cards (making the wrong call or raise 5 times), then your out. The last player remaining wins. The deck also consists of only the cards 9 through A, and theres a slighly different order of poker hands. I think (and this is why I need to find some official rules on the game), that the order of poker hands are: High Card Pair Two Pair Low Straight (9-K) High Straight (10-A) 3 of a Kind Flush Full House Straight Flush Four of a Kind Royal Flush For all pair hands, you have to state the pairs. Ie. 2 Aces, or 3 Kings and 2 10's. For the flushes, you must state suit. The straights have to be ranked lower somehow because they become really common quickly in the game, and their also one of the best hands to state because of this. Also, when stating a straight, you don't reveal what kind of cards you have. Theres a lot of bluffing and stuff in the game to trick people into thinking you have an pair of aces, or something, so they raise to 3 aces, and you just call them because you know you don't have a single ace.
