What to do when you're tilted? How do you get back on your A game?

[QUOTE="LuckyRamen, post: 4606523, member: 340042"] If it's a whole day of tilt you've already let things get too far. Fix that first. You are human. You have emotions. It's okay and even expected to some degree...but playing when you let your emotions take over is asking for problems. You need to realize when you're tilting and what causes you to tilt. When you understand these things you can quickly prepare yourself and make choices to move past it. You also need to accept the fact...that when you play...shit happens. It wont be the last time either. Just because you have a 94% chance before the river doesnt mean you'll always get there. Or that someone called you with nothing all the way to the river then got lucky. Or you got slowrolled. Or bluffed and ducked out. The list is endless but these DO HAPPEN. It's part of playing and something you need to accept. Period. Past looking at your own game and maybe you having some sort of tendency that is flawed...you need to figure out how to handle it. And how you know you're past it. Are you playing your A game? Do you realize you're suddenly playing much looser? Or are wildly aggressive for no reason? Chasing pots? 3 betting or 4 betting expecting constant folds? Too often bluffing? Would a calmer...non tilted you...make the same choices you're making? If the answer is no...and/or you're doing any of the above then you've at least come to the conclusion you're not in a good frame of mind. Take a break. Walk away from the table. Shut off the computer. Whatever you need to do to remove yourself from the situation until you are mentally ready to play again. You need to find what works for you. Understand. Accept. Reset.
