So part of it is for motivation and part of it is simply because we're in uncertain times and it would be nice to have a few extra dollars in my life "roll" from a hobby that can pay you back. It's also about risk management.

I started taking about 50% of the amount OVER what my roll was at when I last withdrew; this way I leave some in there to grow the bankroll but also take some out. Of the money I take out I invest some, save some, and rest goes into my checking account. For tournies I'll take maybe 30-40% out of a big win (top 3 finish or over $1,000 prize) and spread it the same way, then next withdraw follow the 50% rule if I'm up.

I don't know if I'll always do this moving forward as things can change but that's my plan for now.
