I have a couple that come to mind.   One happened online at a freeroll tourney, one happened live.

A couple years ago, I was playing in a freeroll tourney that was a qualifier for a 3000 entry WSOP freeroll.   All you had to do was finish in the top 50 to get a seat in the 3000 seat weekly tourney, where they give away 16 seats.

I'm dealt Q8 of diams in the big blind.   At this point I have about the average chip stack.  There are about 85 players left, and I don't think I can fold my way to a qualify.   Blinds are around 20K and 40K.  My table is a little short handed (maybe 7 players) and I get one caller (under the gun).   I smiled a little when the flop came Q 8 3, all different suits.

I bet 100K in chips (about 1/4th of my stack).  Guy that called under the gun raises 100K.  I re raise him another 100K, he goes all in (he had me covered).  I call (figuring at this point he has a set) and he shows me AQ.

Turn comes an A and i'm out just that quick.  :(

Live $3-$6 game in Laughlin, NV.   I have 66 in a game with 5 players.   I'm the second player in the pot outside of the blinds.

Flop comes A 10 2.   Everyone checks.

Turn card is a 6.  Guy to my right bets $6.  I raise to $12, he pops me back to $18.  At this point the fact that he "might" have pocket aces or pocket 10's dawns on me, but i'm more likely putting him on A10 or A2.   I just call, playing it safe.

River pairs the board with a deuce.   He bets really fast.  One of those bets where I can tell he's begging me to raise.  I flat call and he shows me pocket deuces.   :eek:

I gathered up my chips and leave the table as quickly and quietly as I could.  No way you can play right after a beat like that in a live game.  Maybe I could do it online, but not at a live game.
