What stake should I play with my BR?

Hello,
I've been playing poker for like 2 months now, but I can't really decide at what stake I should play.. I change alot between 0.05/0.10 and 0.10/0.25, And I just tried 1$/2$ for 2 hours, And although I made a slight profit, I don't feel comfortable at it.
My BR is 400$, what stake would you suggest me to play at?

Start at 5/10 then just work your way up. I wouldnt suggest you play $1/$2 Until your confident enough to play

Ignore this and anything similar. It's completely awful advice, so bad that it looks intentional.

With a $400 roll, you're barely rolled to play NL20 (.10/.20) since you have 20 buyins (assuming 100BB buyin). Actually, I usually suggest 30 buyins to move up and 20 to drop down, so using these guidelines, any loss would trigger dropping down.

BvBrMTW, do some googling on "poker bankroll management". I'm sure you will find lots of information that will help you with this question, and having a sound understanding of bankroll management and why it is in place (variance) will help keep you from going broke. It's a very fundamental concept, but even the very best players in the world can and have gone broke if they do not follow appropriate bankroll management.

Personally, I think 10nl (.05c/.10c) is perfect for a $400 roll and for someone without a lot of experience like you. If you can beat 10nl easily and build your roll to $650, you will likely be ready for a shot at 25nl (.10c/25c).

I think I'll go with 10NL, just one more question.
I make a pretty solid profit at 10NL, I usually play on 3-4 tables, should I go play on like 10-20 tables? Or does that require more experience?

You will improve faster and play less robotically if you play less tables.

Are you playing 6max or nit-ring?

Im playing full ring.
So you'd suggest like 4 tables?

Playing full ring can usually accommodate more tables than 6-max, as you are generally getting involved in fewer hands and at a slower rate.

Generally, I feel you should play the maximum number of tables that you feel comfortable with. When you find yourself with spare time on your hands waiting for the next hand or situation to come up, add another table and see if you can handle it. If you reach a point where you are getting overwhelmed with making quick difficult decisions or not having any sort of reads/notes on your opponents other than what you see in your HUD stats is when you probably want to reduce tables.

There's really no set rule for how many tables to have open -- it's largely dependent on your style, your goals, and your makeup. Guys who play video games like Starcraft and who are used to having dozens of split-second decisions to make every minute are probably more naturally suited to play 20+ tables... but really that is not the majority of most people.

For me, I would not hit the .10/.25 until my bankroll is at $500.
Knowing how many tables to play, is just like when you played $1/$2. You will know when you are at an uncomfortable amount of tables. Play what feels comfortable, not stressful.

First, you say you make a slight profit, then a solid one. Which is it. There's more to choosing what stakes to play at than counting how many buyins you have. A player who is re barely winning at a level will eventually have enough in his roll to move up, but will his game be as ready as someone whose win rate is significantly larger?

As for number of tables, add one or two. If you're comfortable with the speed, you can add another one or two. If not, you can try that many for a while to see if you get used to the pace. If so, you can add more. If not, then you've hit your current ceiling.

You have 1 buyin for 400plo. Just go for it.
