What would it take for more women to play poker?

Anyone having followed the wsop Main Event this summer will be very aware of the accomplishment of Leo Margets as the second woman to ever reach the Main Event final table (2nd to Barbara Enright in 1995). Even with this latest accomplishment, I still wonder what it would take for more women to play poker.

Will winning a big event such as the WSOP Main Event possibly draw more women?
Would they have to be a professional or a recreational player?
Or is there something entirely different that may encourage more women to participate?
Will it ever happen that more women will show up in the coming years?

This question has been around a long time, and many people have offered opinions, but so far nothing seems to increase the numbers for women in poker.

What are your thoughts or ideas?

The problem lies at the root of poker, which is when we learn the game. The environment of a poker table full of men is intimidating for women. And if they don't start playing, they won't progress. I believe the online environment has helped a lot in this regard. Furthermore, we need to create a pleasant environment for women at the tables and invest in films and series featuring women.

The increase in the prize pool and the number of tournaments would encourage more women to play. We observed a small number of tables exclusively for women, with very low prize amounts.

All they need is an introduction. Everything else is up to them. If they're not interested then that's that.
Poker has no need for gender identification. Him/her it's all the same. Gender neutral.
We are poker players regardless.

I believe that women have the same chances of winning as men.

It just doesn't interest all women but the women who are good at it are usually really good at reading
people and they take great pleasure in beating men. I think it takes a competitive personality and not
all people are competitive by nature. I am competitive but wouldn't call myself good but I would call
myself persistent !! It's like asking why there aren't more men knitting and scrap booking and playing Bingo,
just different interests I think.

Animating them, showing events, some reality show based on a female player, Leo's case was spectacular, but there are several Asian women and Fossen's wife who have been standing out and showing the place for them! salutes

I don't think anything is missing; online poker has been popular for years. The only thing that's missing is that more women want to learn and play poker.

I think most women could be better players than men

I believe that a lot has changed, and there are several women with great results, poker is an environment for everyone.

Representation matters. The more women run deep in big tournaments (like the Main Event- Leo Margets, or Kristen Foxen or Liv Boeree in the Bahamas Event), the more other women will develop interest in the game. It takes time, study and a lot of practice to get better. K. Foxen was Supernova Elite 15 years ago. Liv Boeree was grinding on Pokerstars 15 years ago also. And Leo Margets has results dating back a while also. I guess if you don't learn poker early in life, or get exposure to it, it might never be on your radar. In Barbara Enright's generation it was viewed as hobby mainly for men. No women played so no women were taught to play poker. It's only in the past 20 , or 10 years that it has become a career choice for women, too. That explains the lower numbers of women participating in tournaments.
