What's the deal?

What's the deal with playes that have a unlit cigarette or cigar in theri mouth while they are playing poker. Does this help them quit smoking or they just do it for the look of it? Can somebody help me with this?

I know that Sammy Farha (pro poker player) keeps an unlit cigarette in his mouth at the tables but doesn't smoke. I think this is just comfortable for him and thats why he does it. I also know that when he takes a horrible beat he'll throw that cigarette away and pull a fresh one out of the pack.

Most pokerrooms don't allow smoking anymore,its a comfort blanket(for me anyway!)
