His reasoning for doing it was "I don't wanna catch something in the future and cost me anything." I just told him "oh, right. you got a point there. I never thought about how much I've lost from future streets." just to keep things social and not make him feel like I'm questioning his play but at the same time, I was curious why people did this.

I personally disagree with this because if someone makes a bet and others are faced with the decision to whether call or raise, I like to put slight pressure on them that I'm still left to act and that I'm capable of check-raising and possibly squeeze because I've done it so many times. But if I just fold rather than check/fold anytime I don't have a hand on the flop, then they can have comfortable decision since they don't have to worry about me.

Another thing is, whenever I just fold if I dont' have anything from big blind but when I don't fold, then people can instant narrow range of hands on me since people will assume I would've folded if I had complete rags from big blind that's been checked around.

But that's just me.
