Hi everybody,

Does A,2,3,4,5 win over 2,3,4,5,6 because of the A?

Thanks,

Do you mean in a Razz Hand?

A,2,3,4,5 would win because the 5 is lower than the 6 you need to reverse it from highest to lowest. so 5432A

In poker the ace is low in a low straight so the 6 high straight wins. Hard to fold a five high straight, however, I've learned to do so when it appears likely another player has a probable higher straight. Generally speaking if a 2345 has been turned up and a player is betting big, I fold the five high straight.

Cardschat welcomes poker enthusiasts of all skill levels, especially new players. We were all new once and we all probably had basic questions about poker at one time or another. But we may not have had the benefit of great forum like this at that time. So let's help promote Cardschat's reputation as the friendliest poker forum on the 'net by helping new folks feel comfortable enough to ask any questions about anything poker at any time.
